I ensure that my skills remain sharp and my practice stays current through continuous professional development and regular training. All client notes are stored securely and are confidentially destroyed three years after the completion of our work together. Confidentiality is a core principle of my practice, and any legal or safety issues that arise will be discussed transparently with the client to determine the best course of action in line with GDPR regulations.

My Personal Story

I am Colette Langridge, a dedicated and passionate trauma-focused counsellor and psychotherapist. My journey into mental health began after a career in the Royal Navy, and then raising my four daughters alongside being an Ofsted Registered Childminder. I developed a deep-seated interest in human attachment and relational dynamics. I qualified as a therapist in 2012 in Wiltshire, before relocating to Dorset, where I have spent seven years working for a Dorset-based trauma charity, supporting individuals who have experienced relational trauma and sexualised trauma and abuse. I have now established my work in Private Practice. My qualifications include a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, and I am a Registered Accredited Member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society.

In my private practice,

I work with Adults over 18 years of age, offering in-person sessions in my welcoming therapy room in Poundbury, Dorchester, and online sessions accessible to clients across the UK and internationally. My work is characterised by an integrative approach that aims to empower clients to find recovery in a way that is meaningful to them. Whether you are dealing with difficult family dynamics, post-traumatic stress, work-related stress, grief, bullying, depression, anxiety, or burnout. I aim to support you through these challenges and help you achieve confidence, autonomy, and well-being.

This is What makes me Unique

Client Success Stories

Colette’s approaches are vast and very kind.

She has helped me tremendously by helping me know myself and my body better and by providing multiple ways of coping with a situation, tailored to my possibilities.

A Happy Client

I have been following therapy with Colette for a few months now and am incredibly thankful for our sessions and for her guidance. She has helped me grow a lot as a person, work on myself, and help me change my perspective on myself and others.

I like the way we work together with a mixture of some theory and the freedom to discuss any topics that pop up.

A Happy Client

Really lovely, warm-hearted therapist that adjusts to your needs and explains everything in an understandable way.

I have already noticed a big change with her already! Highly recommend
